About Standards

A standard is a formal document, generally developed by consensus, containing the requirements a product, process or service should comply with. Standards are essentially voluntary in nature.

SoBS develops and publishes Somali National Standards (SNS) covering food and agriculture, construction, manufacturing, services and environmental management. Standards are developed through Technical Committees (TCs) bringing together experts from industry, academia, government and civil society.
